Government

Governments at all levels can benefit from a sustainability strategy to improve their operations. Many state governments have already implemented “greening” projects and have offices and staff to coordinate the work. They have seen the benefits of working towards sustainability.

RSI can work to support state agencies and municipal entities who need extra help and facilitation with this complex subject. Towns and city governments have a lot to balance – providing public services at reasonable value, managing budgets against rising costs, and responding to citizen concerns about the environment.

Here are some of the organizations and measurement systems we work with to help our clients become more green, more sustainable, and more valuable to their constituents

  • Energy STAR - the US EPA’s flagship energy efficiency program – we use the program to help evaluate energy efficiency in your organization
  • ICLEI – “Local Governments for Sustainability” is an international NGO which promotes municipal sustainability and has some great tools that we work with to find savings
  • PlaNYC – the New York City sustainability action plan  – read about their broad strokes toward sustainability
  • The Burlington (VT) Legacy Project – a small but very livable city in New England, their project has an environmental dimension linked to broader social issues – since sustainability at the local level is multi-faceted

We would be delighted to partner with you to embrace sustainability and derive improved operations for your agencies and departments.
